I wasn't planning on doing a second, complimentary painting to the point where this could be considered a diptych. I just had a bit of extra Paine's Gray on the palette and didn't want it to go to waste. I put down some initial brush strokes and then begin to go with composition that complimented Catalyst Stage 01. I wanted to give the impression that the organics were somehow evolving from my previous painting and I caught a different "stage" of its existence.
